1957 Ranch

When a repeat client, who is also an art consultant, bought a ranch-style home for her family of four, she brought in our team to help her update some key rooms within the home. Having previously worked with our client to purchase some forever pieces, part of our task was to find locations for those items within her new home as well as update the main bathroom.

Given the mid-century vibe of the home, we wanted to stay within those design cues but also add a bit of luxury which our client requested. Designed for her previous home, the custom drapes moved into the new living and dining room providing the perfect backdrop to the lounge chairs and other various vintage mid-century modern antiques. A new rug was needed in the living room and we found the perfect vintage rug that pulled together the colors and highlighted the silver lamp that once belonged to our client’s mother.

The bathroom was a full redo, we reorganized it to make the layout as efficient as possible creating a new vanity, new shower, and built-in bathtub. A statement marble, unlacquered brass hardware and fixtures, vintage sconces, and integrated handles add mid-century details but also feel of today.

For her office/lounge, a Piere Frey fabric used for the drapery set the tone for the room. Again, this fabric pulls in the warm deep terracotta tones while also fitting the mid-century look. A vintage Borge Mogensen sofa keeps that vibe going and other vintage pieces from local antique stores are paired with our client’s etegere, contemporary retail pieces, and a Christopher Spitzmiller lamp. All in all, a space with unique details, selected with intention, for a special client.
